“"मी परमेश्वर आहे मीच फक्त देव आहे दुसरा कोणीही देव नाही. मी तुला वस्त्रे घातली, पण तरीही तू मला ओळखत नाहीस."”
“I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me.”
1 पृथ्वी आणि तिच्यावरील सर्व काही परमेश्वराचे आहे. जग आणि जगातील सर्व लोक परमेश्वराचे आहेत.
2 परमेश्वराने पाण्यावर पृथ्वी निर्माण केली. ती त्याने नद्यांवर निर्माण केली.
3 परमेश्वराच्या डोंगरापर्यंत कोण जाऊ शकेल? परमेश्वराच्या पवित्र मंदिरात कोण उभा राहू शकतो?

5 चांगले लोक इतरांना आशीर्वाद देण्यासाठी परमेश्वराला विनंती करतात. ते चांगले लोक देवाकडे, त्यांच्या त्रात्याकडे चांगुलपणाची मागणी करतात.
7 वेशींनो, आपले मस्तक उंच करा. जुन्या दरवाजांनो, उघडा म्हणजे तो गौरवशाली राजा आत येईल.
8 तो गौरशाली राजा कोण आहे? परमेश्वरच तो राजा आहे. तोच बलवान सैनिक आहे परमेश्वरच तो राजा आहे, तोच युध्दातला नायक आहे.

10 तो गौरवशाली राजा कोण आहे? सर्वशक्तिमान परमेश्वरच तो राजा आहे तोच तो गौरवशाली राजा आहे.
1. The earth is the Lord’s, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
2. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3. Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place?
4. He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5. He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
7. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
8. Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9. Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
10. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.
धडा उपदेश
4 हे इस्राएल लोकहो, ऐका! परमेश्वर हाच आपला देव आहे.
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
1 मवाबातील यार्देन खोऱ्यातून पिसग पर्वताच्या माथ्यावरील नबो नामक शिखरावर मोशे चढून गेला. यरीहो समोरील यार्देन पलीकडचा हा भाग. परमेश्वराने मोशेला गिलादपासून दानपर्यंत सर्व प्रदेश दाखवला.
4 परमेश्वर मोशेला म्हणाला, अब्राहाम, इसहाक आणि याकोब यांना कबूल केलेला हाच तो प्रदेश. त्यांच्या वंशजांना तो द्यायचे मी त्यांना वचन दिले आहे. तुला मी तो पाहू दिला पण तू येथे जाणार नाहीस.
7 मोशे वारला तेव्हा एकशेवीस वर्षाचा होता. तेव्हाही त्याची तब्बेत ठणठणीत होती व दृष्टी चांगली होती.
10 इस्राएलला मोशे सारखा दुसरा संदेष्टा मिळाला नाही. परमेश्वराला मोशेचा प्रत्यक्ष परिचय होता.
1 And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the Lord shewed him all the land...
4 And the Lord said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.
7 And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated.
10 And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face,
1 मोशे परमेश्वशचा सेवक होता. नूनाचा पूत्र यहोशवा मोशेचा मदतनीस होता. मोशेच्या निधनानंतर परमेश्वर यहोशवाशी बोलला. परमेश्वर म्हणाला,
2 माझा सेवक मोशे मरण पावला आहे आता तू आणि हे लोक यार्देन नदी पलीकडे जा. मी इस्राएल लोकांना देणार असलेल्या प्रदेशात तू गेले पाहिजेस.
5 मोशेला दिली तशीच तुलाही मी साथ देईन. तुला आता कोणी तुझे आयुष्य असेपर्यंत अटकाव करू शकणार नाही. मी तुला सोडणार नाही, तुला अंतर देणार नाही.
1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the Lord it came to pass, that the Lord spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying,
2 ...now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
5 ...as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
8 याजक कराराचा कोश वाहून नेतील. त्यांना सांग यार्देन नदीच्या किनाऱ्यापर्यंत जा आणि प्रवाहात थांबा.
9 यहोशवा मग इस्राएल लोकांना म्हणाला, इकडे या आणि आपल्या परमेश्वराची वचने लक्षपूर्वक ऐका.
10 देव आपल्या संगती आहे याची ती साक्ष होय. तो कनानी, हिती, हिव्वी, परिज्जी, गिर्गाशी अमोरी व यबूसी या आपल्या शत्रूंचा खात्रीने पराभव करील. त्यांना त्या प्रदेशातून हुसकावून लावील.
13 याजक परमेश्वराच्या कराराचा कोश वाहतील. परमेश्वर म्हणजे साऱ्या विश्वाचा मालक होय. यार्देन नदीतून तुमच्यापुढे तो कोश नेतील. जेव्हा त्यांच्या टाचा नदीच्या प्रवाहाला स्पर्श करतील तेव्हा प्रवाह वाहायचा थांबेल. पाणी आहे त्याठिकाणी थांबून मागच्या मागे धरणाप्रमाणे अडवले जाईल.
14 कराराचा कोश वाहणारे याजक निघाले आणि नदी पार करून जाण्यासाठी सर्व लोकांनी मुक्काम हलवला. त्या लोकांनी यार्देन नदी पार करायला सुरूवात केली.
16 आणि लगेच पाणी वाहायचे थांबले. पाण्याची जणू भिंत होऊन ते मागे अडवले गेले. थेट आदाम नगरापर्यंत पाणी सर्वदूर साठून राहिले. यरीहोजवळ लोकांनी नदी पार केली.
17 तेथील जमीन कोरडी झाली. याजक परमेश्वराच्या कराराचा कोश घेऊन नदीच्या मध्यावर आले व थांबले. सर्व इस्राएल लोक कोरड्या जमिनीवरून यार्देन पलीकडे निघून जाईपर्यंत ते तिथेच थांबले.
8 And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
9 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the Lord your God.
10 And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you,
13 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.
14 And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
16 That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam,
17 And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the Lord stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
5 तो म्हाणाला, तुमच्या परमेश्वर देवाच्या पवित्र करार कोशासमोर नदीच्या मध्यभागी जा. तेथून प्रत्येकाने एकएक दगड उचलून आणा. इस्राएल मधील आपापल्या कुळाचे प्रतीक म्हणून तो राहील. तेव्हा असा दगड खांद्यावर घेऊन या.
21 यहोशवा म्हणाला, या दगडांचे महत्व काय? ते येथे कशासाठी? असे उद्या तुमची मुले तुम्हाला विरतील.
22 तेव्हा त्यांना सांगा, यार्देन नदीच्या कोरडचा पात्रातून इस्राएल लोक कसे आले त्याची ही आठवण आहे.
23 तेव्हा तुमच्या परमेश्वर देवाने नदीचा प्रवाह रोखला होता. आम्ही तांबडा समुद्र ओलांडला त्यावेळी झाले तसेच येथेही लोकांनी नदी ओलांडेपर्यंत नदीचे पात्र कोरडे होते. तांबडा समुद्रही परमेश्वराने असाच आटवला होता.
24 आपला परमेश्वर अतिशय प्रतापी आहे हे जाणून येथील लोकांना त्याचा धाक वाटावा म्हणून तुमच्या परमेश्वर देवाने असे केले.
5 And Joshua said unto them,
21 When your children shall ask their fathers in time to come,
22 Then ye shall let your children know, saying, Israel came over this Jordan on dry land.
23 For the Lord your God dried up the waters of Jordan from before you, until ye were passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red sea, which he dried up from before us, until we were gone over:
24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.
13 यरीहोजवळ असताना यहोशवाने समोर पाहिले तर एक माणूस पुढे उभा असलेला त्याला दिसला. त्या माणसाच्या हातात तलवार होती. यहोशवाने पुढे होऊन त्याला विचारले, तू आमच्या बाजूचा आहेस की शत्रूच्या गोटातील?
14 त्यावर तो उत्तरला, मी तुमचा शत्रू नव्हे. परमेश्वराच्या सैन्याचा सेनापती या नात्याने नुकताच येथे तुझ्यासमोर आलो आहे. यावर यहोशवाने त्याला जमिनीवर डोके टेकवून आदरपूर्वक अभिवादन केले आणि विचारले, स्वामीची काय आज्ञा आहे? मी आपला सेवक आहे.
15 परमेश्वराच्या सैन्याचा सेनापती म्हणाला, तुझी पादत्राणे काढ कारण जेथे तू आत्ता उभा आहेस ती जागा पवित्र आहे. यहोशवाने त्याचे ऐकले.
13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
15 And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
1 यहोशवाने इस्राएल लोकांच्या सर्व वंशांना शखेम येथे एकत्र बोलावले. इस्राएलीं पैकी वडीलधारी मंडळी, न्यायाधीश, प्रमुख, अधिकारी या सर्वांना पुढे बोलावले. ही मंडळी परमेश्वरासमोर उभी राहिली.
2 मग यहोशवा सर्वांशी बोलला. तो म्हणाला, इस्राएलच्या परमेश्वर देवाचे तुम्हाला काय सांगणे आहे ते आता मी तुम्हाला कळवतो.फार पूर्वी तुमचे पूर्वज फरात नदीच्या पलीकडे राहात होते. अब्राहाम आणि नाहोर यांचा बाप तेरह याच्या काळातील लोकांविषयी मी बोलत आहे. त्यावेळी हे लोक इतर दैवतांची पूजा करत होते.
3 पण मी, परमेश्वराने, तुमचा पूर्वज अब्राहाम याला नदीपलीकडल्या प्रदेशातून बाहेर काढले. कनान देशात त्याला बराच प्रवास घडवला आणि त्याला बरीच मुलेबाळे दिली. त्याला मी इसहाक हा त्याचा पुत्र दिला.
4 मग याकोब आणि एसाव हे दोन पुत्र इसहाकाला दिले. सेईर डोंगरा भोवतालची जमीन मी एसावला दिली. याकोब आणि त्याची मुलेबाळे येथे राहिली नाहीत. ती मंडळी मिसर देशात गेली.
5 मग मी मोशे आणि अहरोन यांना मिसरला पाठवले.
6 अशाप्रकारे तेथून सुटका झाल्यावर ते समुद्रापर्यंत आले तरी मिसरमधील लोक त्यांचा पाठलाग करत होते. रथ, घोडेस्वार यांच्यासह त्यांनी पाठलाग केला.
7 तेव्हा त्यांनी माझा म्हणजे परमेश्वराचा धावा केला. म्हणून मी मिसरमधील लोकांना अनेक संकटांनी हैराण केले. समुद्राला त्यांना आच्छादून टाकायला लावले आणि त्यांना त्याने बुडवले. मिसरच्या सैन्याची मी काय स्थिती केली ती तुम्ही डोव्व्यांनी पाहिलीच आहे.त्यानंतर तुम्ही बरेच दिवस वाळवंटात काढलेत.
11 मग तुम्ही यार्देन नदी पार करुन यरीहो येथे आलात.
13 मी परमेश्वराने, तुम्हाला ती जमीन दिली. तुम्हाला ती मिळवायला परिश्रम करावे लागले नाहीत.
14 मग यहोशवा लोकांना म्हणाला, तुम्ही आत्ताच परमेश्वराचे शब्द ऐकलेत. तुम्ही त्याची आदरपूर्वक उपासना केली पाहिजे आणि प्रामाणिक पणाने त्याची सेवा केली पाहिजे. तुमच्या पूर्वजांनी ज्या खोट्या दैवतांची पूजा केली त्यांचा त्याग करा. फरात नदीच्या पलीकडे आणि मिसरमध्ये ते फार पूर्वी घडून गेले. आता फक्त या परमेश्वराचीच सेवा करा.
31 यहोशवाच्या हयातीत आणि त्याच्या निधनानंतरही इस्राएल लोकांनी परमेश्वराची सेवा केली. परमेश्वराने इस्राएलासाठी काय केले हे पाहिलेली वडीलधारी माणसे जिवंत असताना लोक परमेश्वराची उपासना करत राहिले.
1 And Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem,
2 And Joshua said unto all the people, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Your fathers dwelt on the other side of the flood in old time,
3 And I took your father Abraham from the other side of the flood, and led him throughout all the land of Canaan, and multiplied his seed, and gave him Isaac.
4 And I gave unto Isaac Jacob and Esau: and I gave unto Esau mount Seir, to possess it; but Jacob and his children went down into Egypt.
5 I sent Moses also and Aaron,
6 And I brought your fathers out of Egypt: and ye came unto the sea; and the Egyptians pursued after your fathers with chariots and horsemen unto the Red sea.
7 And when they cried unto the Lord, he put darkness between you and the Egyptians, and brought the sea upon them, and covered them; and your eyes have seen what I have done in Egypt:
11 And ye went over Jordan, and came unto Jericho:
13 And I have given you a land for which ye did not labour,
14 Now therefore fear the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the Lord.
31 And Israel served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that overlived Joshua, and which had known all the works of the Lord, that he had done for Israel.

God is what the Scriptures declare Him to be, — Life, Truth, Love. Spirit is divine Principle, and divine Principle is Love, and Love is Mind, and Mind is not both good and bad, for God is Mind; therefore there is in reality one Mind only, because there is one God.

To have one God and avail yourself of the power of Spirit, you must love God supremely.

"Thou shalt have no other gods before me." (Exodus xx. 3.) The First Commandment is my favorite text. It demonstrates Christian Science. It inculcates the tri-unity of God, Spirit, Mind; it signifies that man shall have no other spirit or mind but God, eternal good, and that all men shall have one Mind. The divine Principle of the First Commandment bases the Science of being, by which man demonstrates health, holiness, and life eternal.

In the Saxon and twenty other tongues good is the term for God. The Scriptures declare all that He made to be good, like Himself, — good in Principle and in idea. Therefore the spiritual universe is good, and reflects God as He is.
God's thoughts are perfect and eternal, are substance and Life. Material and temporal thoughts are human, involving error, and since God, Spirit, is the only cause, they lack a divine cause. The temporal and material are not then creations of Spirit. They are but counterfeits of the spiritual and eternal.

From beginning to end, the Scriptures are full of accounts of the triumph of Spirit, Mind, over matter. Moses proved the power of Mind by what men called miracles; so did Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha.

As the children of Israel were guided triumphantly through the Red Sea, the dark ebbing and flowing tides of human fear, — as they were led through the wilderness, walking wearily through the great desert of human hopes, and anticipating the promised joy, — so shall the spiritual idea guide all right desires in their passage from sense to Soul, from a material sense of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for them who love God.

Mortal mind is the harp of many strings, discoursing either discord or harmony according as the hand, which sweeps over it, is human or divine.

Laws of nature are laws of Spirit; but mortals commonly recognize as law that which hides the power of Spirit. Divine Mind rightly demands man's entire obedience, affection, and strength. No reservation is made for any lesser loyalty. Obedience to Truth gives man power and strength. Submission to error superinduces loss of power.
Truth casts out all evils and materialistic methods with the actual spiritual law, — the law which gives sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, voice to the dumb, feet to the lame. If Christian Science dishonors human belief, it honors spiritual understanding; and the one Mind only is entitled to honor.

In Hebrew, Greek, Latin, and English, faith and the words corresponding thereto have these two definitions, trustfulness and trustworthiness. One kind of faith trusts one's welfare to others. Another kind of faith understands divine Love and how to work out one's "own salvation, with fear and trembling." "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief!" expresses the helplessness of a blind faith; whereas the injunction, "Believe ... and thou shalt be saved!" demands self-reliant trustworthiness, which includes spiritual understanding and confides all to God.
