“"म्हणून देवाने दिलेली संपूर्ण शस्रसामग्री घ्या. म्हणजे तुम्हाला सर्व ते केल्यावर टिकून राहता येईल व वाईट दिवस आल्यावर तुम्हाला प्रतिकार करता येईल."”
“Take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
23 परमेश्वर सैनिकाला सावधगिरीने चालण्यास मदत करतो. परमेश्वर त्याला पडण्यापासून सावरतो.
24 जर सैनिक पळत पळत त्याच्या शत्रूवर चढाई करत असेल तर परमेश्वर त्याचा हात धरुन त्याला पडताना सावरतो.
25 मी तरुण होतो आणि आता म्हातारा झालो आहे. आणि देवाने चांगल्या माणसांचा त्याग केल्याचे मी कधी पाहिले नाही चांगल्या माणसांची मुले अन्नासाठी भीक मागताना मी कधी पाहिली नाहीत.
26 चांगला माणूस दुसऱ्यांना सढळ हाताने देतो आणि चांगल्या माणसाची मुले म्हणजे जणू ईश्वरी कृपाच असते.

23. The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
24. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.
25. I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
26. He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
35. I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.
36. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
37. Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.
धडा उपदेश
1 मग देव म्हणाला,
2 मी याव्हे तुझा प्रभू, तुझा देव आहे. तुम्ही मिसरमध्ये गुलाम होता तेव्हा मीच तुम्हाला तेथून गुलामगिरीतून सोडवून आणले.
3 माझ्या शिवाय इतर कोणत्याही दैवतांची तू उपासना करु नयेस.
1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
1 तुम्ही आपणासाठी मूर्ती करु नका; तसेच कोरीव मूर्ती किंवा स्मारक स्तंभ आठवणींचा बुरुज-उभारु नका.
2 तुम्ही माझ्या पवित्र विसाव्याच्या दिवसांची पवित्र शब्बाथांची-आठवण ठेवून ते पाळावे आणि माझ्या पवित्र स्थांनाविषयी आदर बाळगावा. मी परमेश्वर आहे!
3 तुम्ही आठवण ठेवून माझ्या नियमाप्रमाणे चालावे व माझ्या आज्ञा पाळाव्या!
4 तुम्ही असे कराल तर मी तुमच्यासाठी योग्य वेळी पाऊस पाडीन; जमीन आपले पीक देईल व मळ्यातील झाडे आपापली फळे देतील.
5 तुम्ही द्राक्षांच्या हंगामापर्यंत धान्याची मळणी करीत राहाल आणि पेरणीच्या दिवसापर्यंत द्राक्षांची तोडणी करीत राहाल. मग खाण्याकरिता तुम्हाजवळ भरपूर अन्न असेल, आणि तुम्ही आपल्या देशात सुरक्षित राहाल.
6 मी तुमच्या देशाला शांतता देईन; तुम्ही शांतीने झोपी जाल; तुम्हाला कोणाची भीती वाटणार नाही, मी हिंस्र पशूंना तुमच्या देशाबाहेर ठेवीन आणि तुमच्या देशावर कोणी सैन्य चाल करुन येणार नाही.
7 तुम्ही तुमच्या शत्रूंचा पाठलाग कराल व त्यांचा पराभव कराल. तुम्ही तुमच्या तलवारींनी त्यांचा वध कराल.
8 तुमच्यातील पांच जण शंभरांना व शंभरजण दहा हजारांना पळवून लावतील. तुम्ही तुमच्या शत्रूंचा पराभव कराल, व तुमच्या तलवारीने त्यांना ठार माराल.
9 मग मी तुमच्याकडे वळेन व तुम्हाला भरपूर संतती देईन आणि तुमच्याशी केलेला माझा करार पक्का करीन.
12 मी तुमच्याबरोबर चालेन आणि तुमचा देव होईन, आणि तुम्ही माझे लोक व्हाल.
14 परंतु जर तुम्ही माझे ऐकले नाही व माझ्या आज्ञा पाळल्या नाहीत तर मग ह्या वाईट गोष्टी तुम्हावर येतील.
19 मी तुमच्या बळाचा गर्व मोडून टाकीन; तुमचे आकाश लोखंडासारखे व तुमची जमीन पितळेसारखी करीन.
20 तुम्ही खूप कष्ट कराल पण त्याचा काही उपयोग होणार नाही; कारण तुमची जमीन पीकदेणार नाही व तुमची झाडे फळे देणार नाहीत.
1 Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image,
2 Ye shall keep my sabbaths, and reverence my sanctuary: I am the Lord.
3 If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;
4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
5 And your threshing shall reach unto the vintage, and the vintage shall reach unto the sowing time: and ye shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.
6 And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.
7 And ye shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.
8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight:
9 For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you.
12 And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people.
14 But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments;
19 I will break the pride of your power;
20 And your strength shall be spent in vain:
1 अशा रीतीने अब्रामाने मिसर देश सोडला व तो आपली बायको साराय, पुतण्या लोट आणि त्यांची सर्व मालमत्ता घेऊन नेगेब मधून प्रवास करीत गेला.
2 त्या काळी अब्राम फार श्रीमंत झाला होता; त्याच्याजवळ पुष्कळ गुरेढोरे, शेरेडेमेंढरे, गाढवे व उंट तसेच सोने चांदी इत्यादी भरपूर होते.
3 अब्राम इकडेतिकडे सतत प्रवास करीत राहिला; त्याने नेगेब सोडले व तो पुन्हा मागे बेथेलला गेला; बेथेल व आय यांच्या दरम्यान याच ठिकाणी त्याने त्याच्या कुटुंबासह तळ दिला होता व.
4 परमेश्वराची उपासना करण्याकरिता त्याने एक वेदी बांधली होती, म्हणून त्याच ठिकाणी अब्रामाने परमेश्वराची उपासना केली. अब्राम व लोट वेगळे होतात.
5 या काळात लोट अब्रामाबरोबर प्रवास करीत होता. लोट याजकडे खूप, गुरेढोरे व तंबू होते
6 अब्राम व लोट यांची गुरेढोरे इतकी वाढली की त्या दोघांना एकत्र राहाण्यास ती जागा व तो प्रदेश पुरेना,
7 शिवाय अब्राम व लोट यांच्या गुराख्यांची एकसारखी भांडणे होऊ लागली; त्याकाळी त्या देशात कनानी व परिज्जी लोकांची वस्ती होती.
8 तेव्हा अब्राम लोटास म्हणाला, “तुझ्या माझ्यामध्ये तसेच तुझे व माझे गुराखी यांच्यामध्ये भांडणतंटा नसावा, कारण आपण सगळे भाऊबंद आहोत.
9 तेव्हा आपण वेगळे व्हावे हे आपल्यासाठी बरे आहे तुला पाहिजे तो प्रदेश तू निवड; तू जर डावीकडे गेलास तर मी उजवीकडे जाईन, आणि तू जर उजवीकडे गेलास तर मी डावीकडे जाईन.
10 लोटाने यार्देन दरीकडे नजर टाकली तेव्हा तेथे सर्वत्र भरपूर पाणी असल्याचे त्याला दिसले परमेश्वराने सदोम व गमोरा या नगरांचा नाश केला त्याच्या आधीची ही घटना आहे. त्यावेळी थेट सोअरापर्यंत पसरलेले यार्देन नदीचे खोरे परमेश्वराच्या बागे सारखे सुंदर होते मिसर मधील प्रदेशाप्रमाणे ही भूमी चांगली होती.
11 तेव्हा लोटाने यार्देन नदीच्या खोऱ्यात राहाणे निवडले; मग ते दोघे वेगळे झाले आणि लोटाने पूर्वेकडे प्रवास करण्यास सुरवात केली.
12 अब्राम कनान देशातच राहिला आणि लोट यार्देनेच्या तळवटीतील शहरातून राहिला; लोट दक्षिणेकडे दूर सदोमाला गेला आणि तेथेच त्याने आपला तबू ठोकला.
13 सदोम नगराचे लोक अतिशय दुष्ट व वाईट असल्याचे परमेश्वराला माहित होते.
14 लोट निघून गेल्यावर परमेश्वर अब्रामाला म्हणाला, तुझ्या अवतीभोवती, उत्तरेकडे व दक्षिणेकडे, पूर्वेकडे व पश्चिमेकडे दूरवर नजर टाकून पाहा.
15 तू पाहातोस हा सगळा प्रदेश मी तुला आणि तुझ्यानंतर तुझ्या संततीला कायमचा देईन.
16 मी तुझी संतती या पृथ्वीवरील धुळीच्या कणाइतकी करीन, ती इतकी करीन की जर कोणाला ते कण मोजता येतील तर तुझ्या संततीचीही गणना होईल.
17 तर उठून जा व या तुझ्या प्रदेशातून फिरुन ये; हा सर्व प्रदेश मी आता तुला देत आहे.
18 तेव्हा अब्रामाने आपले तंबू हलविले व हेब्रोन शहरजवळील मम्रेच्या मोठया वृक्षांत तो राहावयास गेला; परमेश्वराची उपासना करण्यासाठी त्याने तेथे वेदी बांधिली.
1 And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south.
2 And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold.
3 And he went on his journeys from the south even to Beth-el,
4 Unto the place of the altar, which he had made there at the first: and there Abram called on the name of the Lord.
5 And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.
6 And the land was not able to bear them, that they might dwell together: for their substance was great, so that they could not dwell together.
7 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle:
8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left.
10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar.
11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other.
12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.
13 But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the Lord exceedingly.
1 त्यादिवशी संध्याकाळी ते दोन देवदूत सदोम नगरात आले.
15 ... दुसऱ्या दिवशी पहाटे ते दूत लोटाला घाईकरुन म्हणालें.
17 नगराबाहेर आल्यावर त्या देवदूतापैकी एक जण म्हणाला, आता पळा व तुमचे जीव वांचवा, नगराकडे मागे वळून पाहू नका आणि या खोऱ्यात कोणत्याही ठिकाणी थांबू नका; पर्वतावर जाईपर्यंत पळत राहा जर का मधे कोठे थांबला, तर नगराबरोबर तुमचाही नाश होईल.
24 आणि परमेश्वराने सदोम व गमोरा या नगरांचा नाश करायला सुरुवात केली; त्याने आकाशातून त्या नगरावर गंधक व अग्नी यांचा वर्षाव केला.
27 त्याच दिवशी पहाटे अब्राहाम उठला आणि आदल्या दिवशी तो परमेश्वरासमोर ज्या ठिकाणी उभा राहिला होता तेथे गेला.
28 त्याने तेथून सदोम व गमोरा नगराकडे व संबंध खोऱ्यातील तळवटीच्या प्रदेशाकडे नजर टाकली तेव्हा तो अवघा प्रदेश म्हणजे भल्यामोठ्या अग्नीच्या ज्वालांनी व धुराच्या लोटांनी भरलेला त्याला दिसला.
1 And there came two angels to Sodom at even;
15 …then the angels hastened Lot, saying,
17 Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
24 Then the Lord rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven;
27 And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:
28 And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
8 Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
12 They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
देवाशिवाय कोणतीही शक्ती नाही. सर्वशक्तिमानात सर्व शक्ती आहे आणि इतर कोणत्याही शक्तीचा स्वीकार करणे म्हणजे ईश्वराचा अपमान करणे होय.
There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God.

The three great verities of Spirit, omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, — Spirit possessing all power, filling all space, constituting all Science, — contradict forever the belief that matter can be actual. These eternal verities reveal primeval existence as the radiant reality of God's creation, in which all that He has made is pronounced by His wisdom good.
Thus it was that I beheld, as never before, the awful unreality called evil. The equipollence of God brought to light another glorious proposition, — man's perfectibility and the establishment of the kingdom of heaven on earth.

The maximum of good is the infinite God and His idea, the All-in-all. Evil is a suppositional lie.
As named in Christian Science, animal magnetism or hypnotism is the specific term for error, or mortal mind. It is the false belief that mind is in matter, and is both evil and good; that evil is as real as good and more powerful. This belief has not one quality of Truth. It is either ignorant or malicious. The malicious form of hypnotism ultimates in moral idiocy. The truths of immortal Mind sustain man, and they annihilate the fables of mortal mind, whose flimsy and gaudy pretensions, like silly moths, singe their own wings and fall into dust.
In Christian Science, man can do no harm, for scientific thoughts are true thoughts, passing from God to man.

Animal magnetism has no scientific foundation, for God governs all that is real, harmonious, and eternal, and His power is neither animal nor human.
Mankind must learn that evil is not power. Its so-called despotism is but a phase of nothingness. Christian Science despoils the kingdom of evil, and pre-eminently promotes affection and virtue in families and therefore in the community. The Apostle Paul refers to the personification of evil as "the god of this world," and further defines it as dishonesty and craftiness. Sin was the Assyrian moon-god.

Evil is a negation, because it is the absence of truth. It is nothing, because it is the absence of something. It is unreal, because it presupposes the absence of God, the omnipotent and omni-present. Every mortal must learn that there is neither power nor reality in evil.
Evil is self-assertive. It says: "I am a real entity, overmastering good." This falsehood should strip evil of all pretensions. The only power of evil is to destroy itself. It can never destroy one iota of good. Every attempt of evil to destroy good is a failure, and only aids in peremptorily punishing the evil-doer.

Lulled by stupefying illusions, the world is asleep in the cradle of infancy, dreaming away the hours. Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts human consciousness into eternal Truth. Humanity advances slowly out of sinning sense into spiritual understanding; unwillingness to learn all things rightly, binds Christendom with chains.
Love will finally mark the hour of harmony, and spiritualization will follow, for Love is Spirit. Before error is wholly destroyed, there will be interruptions of the general material routine. Earth will become dreary and desolate, but summer and winter, seedtime and harvest (though in changed forms), will continue unto the end, — until the final spiritualization of all things. "The darkest hour precedes the dawn."
This material world is even now becoming the arena for conflicting forces. On one side there will be discord and dismay; on the other side there will be Science and peace. The breaking up of material beliefs may seem to be famine and pestilence, want and woe, sin, sickness, and death, which assume new phases until their nothingness appears. These disturbances will continue until the end of error, when all discord will be swallowed up in spiritual Truth.
Mortal error will vanish in a moral chemicalization. This mental fermentation has begun, and will continue until all errors of belief yield to understanding. Belief is changeable, but spiritual understanding is changeless.
As this consummation draws nearer, he who has shaped his course in accordance with divine Science will endure to the end. As material knowledge diminishes and spiritual understanding increases, real objects will be apprehended mentally instead of materially.
During this final conflict, wicked minds will endeavor to find means by which to accomplish more evil; but those who discern Christian Science will hold crime in check. They will aid in the ejection of error. They will maintain law and order, and cheerfully await the certainty of ultimate perfection.
In reality, the more closely error simulates truth and so-called matter resembles its essence, mortal mind, the more impotent error becomes as a belief. According to human belief, the lightning is fierce and the electric current swift, yet in Christian Science the flight of one and the blow of the other will become harmless. The more destructive matter becomes, the more its nothingness will appear, until matter reaches its mortal zenith in illusion and forever disappears. The nearer a false belief approaches truth without passing the boundary where, having been destroyed by divine Love, it ceases to be even an illusion, the riper it becomes for destruction. The more material the belief, the more obvious its error, until divine Spirit, supreme in its domain, dominates all matter, and man is found in the likeness of Spirit, his original being.
The broadest facts array the most falsities against themselves, for they bring error from under cover. It requires courage to utter truth; for the higher Truth lifts her voice, the louder will error scream, until its inarticulate sound is forever silenced in oblivion.
