1     माणसाने जर वाईट लोकांचा सल्लामानला नाही, तो पापी लोकांसारखा राहिला नाही आणि देवावरविश्वास न ठे वणाऱ्या लोकांबरोबर राहाणे त्याला आवडले नाही तर तो माणूस खरोखरच सुखी होईल.

2     चांगल्या माणसाला परमेश्वराची शिकवण आवडते तो त्याबद्दल रात्रंदिवस विचार करत असतो.

3     त्यामुळे तो माणूस ओढ्याच्या कडेला लावलेल्या झाडासारखा शक्तिशाली होऊ शकतो तो योग्यवेळी फळे येणाऱ्या झाडासारखा असतो तो पाने असलेल्या व न मरणाऱ्या झाडासारखा असतो तो जे काही करतो ते यशस्वी होते.

8     मी परमेश्वराला नेहमी माझ्या पुढे ठेवतो आणि मी त्याची उजवी बाजू कधीही सोडणार नाही.

9     त्यामुळे माझे ह्दय आणि माझा आत्मा आनंदीत राहील माझे शरीरही सुरक्षित असेल.

11     तू मला नीट कसे जगावे ते शिकवशील परमेश्वरा, केवळ तुझ्या सान्निध्यात असणेही संपूर्ण समाधान देणारे असेल. तुझ्या उजव्या बाजूला राहण्याने कायमचे समाधान लाभेल.

1. नीतिसूत्रे 3: 1-6

1     मुला, माझी शिकवण विसरु नकोस. मी तुला ज्या गोष्टी करायला सांगतो त्या लक्षात ठेव.

2     मी तुला ज्या गोष्टी करायला सांगतो त्या तुला अधिक दीर्घ आणि अधिक सुखी आयुष्य देतील.

3     प्रेम करणे कधी सोडू नकोस. नेहमी इमानदार आणि प्रामाणिक राहा. या गोष्टी तुझाच एक घटक बनव. त्यांना तुझ्या मानेभोवती बांध. त्या गोष्टी तुझ्या हृदयावर कोर.

4     म्हणजे तू शहाणा होशील व देवाला व लोकांना तुझ्याबद्दल आनंद वाटेल.

5     परमेश्वरावर संपूर्ण विश्वास ठेव. तुझ्या स्वत:च्या ज्ञानावर अवलंबून राहू नकोस.

6     तू जी प्रत्येक गोष्ट करशील ती करताना देवाचा विचार कर. म्हणजे तो तुला मदत करील.

2. रूथ 1: 1-5, 8, 14 (आणि अर्पा)-16, 22

1     रपूर्वी शास्त्यांच्या अमदानीत एकदा दुष्काळ पडला आणि अन्नधान्याची टंचाई निर्माण झाली. तेव्हा अलीमलेख नावाचा गृहस्थ आपली बायको आणि दोन मुले यांच्यासह यहूदा बेथलेहेम सोडून मवाब या डोंगराळ प्रांतात राहायला आला.

2     त्याच्या बायकोचे नाव नामी आणि मुलांची नावे महलोन आणि खिल्योन अशी होती.

3     पुढे अलीमलेख वारला आणि त्याची बायको नामी व दोन मुले मागे राहिली.

4     नामीच्या मुलांनी मवाबातील दोन मुलींशी लग्ने केली. एकाच्या बायकोचे होते अर्पा आणि दुसरीचे नाव रूथ. जवळपास दहा वर्ष ते तिथे राहिले.

5     आणि महलोन व खिल्योन दोघेही मरण पावले.नामी तिचा नवरा आणि मुलं यांच्यावाचून एकटीच राहिली.

8     तेव्हा नामीने आपल्या सुनांना सांगितले,” तुम्ही आपल्या माहेरी परत जा. मला आणि माझ्या मुलांना तुम्ही प्रेम दिलेत. तुम्ही जशा आमच्याशी दयाळू आणि प्रेमळ राहिलात तसाच परमेश्वर ही तुमच्याशी राहो.

14     ... मग अर्पाने चुंबन घेऊन नामीचा निरोप घेतला. पण रूथ मात्र तिला बिलगली.

15     नामी तिला म्हणाली, तुझी जाऊ बघ कशी आपल्या लोकांत,आपल्या देवाकडे गेली, तूही तसेच केले पाहिजेस.

16     पण रूथ हटून बसली आणि म्हणाली, तुम्हाला सोडून जायची माझ्यावर जबरदस्ती करू नका. मला माहेरी जायला लावू नका.मी तुमच्याबरोबर येईन. जिथे तुम्ही जाल तिथे मी येईन. जिथे तुम्ही पथारी टाकाल तिथेच मीही पडेन. तुमचे लोक ते माझे लोक. तुमचा देव तो माझा देव.

22     अशा प्रकारे सातूच्या पिकाच्या हंगामाच्या सुरूवातीला नामी आणि तिची मवाबातील सून रूथ या दोघी मवाबातून बेथलेहेम यहूदा येथे परतल्या.

2. Ruth 1 : 1-5, 8, 14 (and Orpah)-16, 22

1     Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Beth-lehem-judah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.

2     And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Beth-lehem-judah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there.

3     And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.

4     And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.

5     And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

8     And Naomi said unto her two daughters in law, Go, return each to her mother’s house: the Lord deal kindly with you, as ye have dealt with the dead, and with me.

14     …and Orpah kissed her mother in law; but Ruth clave unto her.

15     And she said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law.

16     And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:

22     So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter in law, with her, which returned out of the country of Moab: and they came to Beth-lehem in the beginning of barley harvest.

3. रूथ 2: 1-3 (से :), 4-12

1     थलेहेममध्ये बवाज नावाचा एक श्रीमंत गूहस्थ राहात असे. तो अलीमलेखच्या कुळातला म्हणजे नामीचा जवळचा नातलगच होता.

2     एकदा रूथ नामीला म्हणाली, मी आज शेतावर जाऊ का? कोणी दयाळू माणूस भेटला तर त्याच्या शेतात राहिलेले धान्य वेचून आणीन.

3     नामीने तिला बरं म्हणून अनुमती दिली. रूथ शेतावर गेली कापणी करणाऱ्यांच्या मागे फिरत उरले सुरले धान्य ती वेचू लागली योगायोग असा की हे शेत अलीमलेखाचा नातेवाईक बवाज याच्याच मालकीचे होते.

4     थोडया वेळाने बवाज बेथलेहेमहून शेतावर आला. परमेश्वर तुमच्याबरोबर असो असे म्हणून त्याने आपल्या मजुरांचा समाचार घेतला. मजुरांनीही परमेश्वर तुमचे भले करो असे म्हणून त्याचे उलट अभिष्टचिंतन केले.

5     मजुरांवर देखरेख करणाऱ्या मुकादमाजवळ मग बवाजने ही मुलगी कोण म्हणून चौकशी केली.

6     मुकादम म्हणाला, नामीबरोबर मवाबातून आलेली तरूणस्त्री ती हीच.

7     ती आज सकाळी इथे आली आणि कापणी करणाऱ्यांच्या मागून धान्य वेचायची परवानगी तिने मागितली. सकाळपासून ती येथे आहे.तिचे घर त्या तिकडे आहे.

8     हे ऐकून बवाज तिला म्हणाला, मुली, माझ्या शेतात राहून तुझ्यासाठी धान्य गोळा कर. दुसऱ्या कोणाच्या शेतावर जायची तुला गरज नाही. इथल्या कामावरच्या बायकांना धरून.

9     त्यांच्या मागोमाग जा. तुला त्रास द्यायचा नाही असे मी माझ्या माणसांना बजावले आहे. तहान लागेल तेव्हा या लोकांसाठी पाणी भरून ठेवले आहे त्यातूनच पी.

10     रूथने यावर बवाजला वाकून अभिवादन केले अणि ती म्हणाली, माझ्याकडे तुमचे लक्ष गेले हे आश्चर्यच म्हणायचे, मी खरे तर परकी बाई पण तुम्ही माझ्यावर मोठीच दया केलीत.

11     बवाज तिला म्हणाला, तू आपल्या सासूला कशी मदत करतेस हे मी ऐकले आहे. आपला नवरा वारल्यावरही तू तिला धरून राहिली आहेस. आपले आई वडील आपला देश सोडून तू इथे, या देशात आलीस.

12     तुझ्या या वागणुकीचे तुला चांगले फळ मिळेल. इस्राएलाचा परमेश्वर देव तुझ्यावर कृपादृष्टी ठेवील. त्याच्या आश्रयालातू आली आहेस तेव्हा तो तुझा सांभाळ करील.

3. Ruth 2 : 1-3 (to :), 4-12

1     And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.

2     And Ruth the Moabitess said unto Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said unto her, Go, my daughter.

3     And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers:

4     And, behold, Boaz came from Beth-lehem, and said unto the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they answered him, The Lord bless thee.

5     Then said Boaz unto his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this?

6     And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:

7     And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and hath continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.

8     Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:

9     Let thine eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go thou after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch thee? and when thou art athirst, go unto the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.

10     Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?

11     And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

12     The Lord recompense thy work, and a full reward be given thee of the Lord God of Israel, under whose wings thou art come to trust.

4. प्रेषितांचीं कृत्यें 9: 36-41

36     यापो शहरात येशूची एक शिष्या राहत होती. तीचे नाव तबिथा होते ती नेहमी लोकांसाठी चांगली कामे करीत असे. गरीबांना दानधर्म करीत असे.

37     जेव्हा पेत्र लोदमध्ये होता. तेव्हा तबिथा आजारी पडली व मेली. त्यांनी तिचे शरीर धुतले व ते माडीवरच्या एका खोलीत ठेवले.

38     यापो येथीला अनुयायांनी ऐकले की, पेत्र लोदमध्ये आहे. म्हणून त्यांनी दोन माणसे पाठविली. त्यांनी त्याला विंनति केली. ते म्हणाले, त्वरा करा, आमच्याकडे लवकर या!

39     पेत्र तयार झाला व त्यांच्याबरोबर गेला. जेव्हा तो तेथे पोहोचला तेव्हा त्यांनी त्याला माडीवरच्या खोलीत नेले. सर्व विधवा स्त्रिया पेत्राभोवती उभ्या राहिल्या. त्या रडत होत्या. दुर्कस जिवंत असताना जे कपडे व झगे तिने तयार केले होते ते त्यांनी पेत्राला दाखवले.

40     पेत्राने खोलीतील सर्वांना बाहेर काढले. त्याने गुडघे टेकून प्रार्थना केली. आणि दुर्कसच्या शरीराकडे वळून तो म्हणाला, तबिथा ऊठ! तेव्हा तिने डोळे उघडले, जेव्हा तिने पेत्राला पाहीले तेव्हा ती उठून बसली.

41     त्याने तिला आपला हात देऊन उभे राहण्यास मदत केली, नंतर त्याने विश्वासणाऱ्यांना आणि विधवा स्त्रियांना खोलीमध्ये बोलाविले. त्याने तबिथाला त्यांना दाखवले, ती जिवंत होती!

4. Acts 9 : 36-41

36     Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37     And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38     And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39     Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40     But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41     And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

6     माझ्या उरलेल्या आयुष्यात चांगुलपणा आणि दया सदैव माझ्या बरोबर असतील. आणि मी परमेश्वराच्या मंदिरात अनंतकाळापर्यंत बसेन.

6     Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
